How to: Pick yourself up.

If you're human, this one is for you. When life sends obstacles, we have to learn how to keep going. So I thought I would share things that I do to help pick myself back up and keep going.

>Take a hot shower

Sometimes after I have had a rough day, I immediately get in the shower when I get home to wash away all of the crappy things that happened. I remember reading an article on, "Tips to Relax", that said to imagine all of the stress and anxiety going down to your feet and washing away with the water. It works for me!

>Remember the last time you found yourself in a bad situation and go through how it was resolved.

You've been here before and you survived. Somehow it did not last forever. This too shall pass. You will make it.

>Have a good laugh or a good cry.

Releasing emotions is healthy!!! Our bodies can feel when we hold stuff in. Remember to breathe and be vulnerable. You do not have to be tough 24/7. It's also okay to make light of the situation. Think of the saying, "one day you will look back at this and laugh".

>Talk to God. Read His word.

This is the most effective option. Hear the truth and know you are not in control.

"But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you." - 1 Peter 5:10

I read this verse this morning and felt reassured that God uses our pain to make us stronger, and that we can find rest in him.

>Move your body

I was trying to avoid the word, ''exercise'', because no one really wants to do that. Go for a walk, do your favorite workout routine, or just dance around your kitchen. Being active not only helps your physical health, it also gets your happy thoughts flowing!

> Make a game plan

Get creative! Dream big dreams! Start to visualize what you want for your future!

> Do your makeup and sit at home

I mean you don't have to sit at home, the point is, feel good about yourself for YOU and no one else.
